Do you know where this phrase, "time is of the essence," originated? According to Construction Science, the origin comes from the building of the transcontinental railroad. Interestingly, the transcontinental railroad changed our acknowledgment and respect of time in more ways than one. You might have to think about that one for a moment. Holidays also have a way of reminding us to acknowledge and respect time.
I hope this writing finds you well and that you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving. How are you feeling and faring now that the holiday of feeling abundantly full with gratitude and possibly too much food has come to pass? I had to commit to stop eating bread. Man, I love stuffing, but it sure has a way of permitting me to eat bread daily, even when all the stuffing is gone, leaving me craving more. So, I have been eating two pieces of fruit instead of one a day to keep the carbohydrate content, but I have switched it out for real food with a bigger bang for the buck, higher nutritional content, and more fiber. Another thing that helps when transitioning back into Wellness is to drink enough water. It's incredible that I still need to get my measured-out bottle to travel with, or I can easily forget to drink water, especially as the weather gets colder.
Today is not just any Wellness Wednesday; today is special. Today is the day in 1992 that Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ramji left his body. When a realized being such as Sarkar Baba, who dedicated his life to the well-being of others, exists during our lifetime, it is a true blessing in our lives. I am sure you have heard of the 100-monkey concept. They say when 100 monkeys on the other side of the continent learn how to do something, it is only a short time before the understanding and action make their way here.
It is a great honor and opportunity to see a living, breathing example of what it means to live a meaningful life, not simply the idea of what that means but an actual example. The example and momentum Sarkar Baba inspired continue to live powerfully in Baba Harihar Ramji, the Sonoma Ashram, and the Aghor Foundation. You can go to https://sonomaashram.org/ to view how the Aghor legacy continues.
When I lost my dad a few years back, I never imagined how alive parts of him would become. In some ways, my dad might feel more alive today than when he was in his body—the examples he made while in his body have more profound meaning to me now. And the love is way more prevalent now since my personality can no longer bump up against his. Isn't life funny that way? Aren't we funny in that way? We tend to bump up against those we love dearly. Like one of my guru sisters always says, everyone cries at the funeral. It's a great reminder. If you'd be attending the funeral of someone you feel angry or frustrated with and you'd be crying, try shifting those Wellness gears too today.
Let today, the Maha Samadhi of Aghoreshwar Bhagwan Ramji, be a living, breathing, in-the-body day of action for you. May we all be examples of what it means to live a meaningful life. Start in your imagination and see what comes of it. If you are ready to take the next step, go for it. Be the love, be the example. Reach out and touch faith. Then, eat a piece of fruit if necessary (kidding, not really). Take a break from processed food for a while, even if you try to put yourself out there and what you put into the world is not received. That is even more reason to treat yourself well and feed your body goodness.
You got this; if you have a hold on the Self, your true Self, You got this. And if you don't, if you are not living to your full potential and feel yourself in your own way, join us for yoga or join the pranayama community. We also hold monthly sacred sound gatherings. Reach out to me for private guidance with fascia yoga or enzyme nutrition. When you are ready, the support you need is right before you and remember, Time is of the essence.
